The use of circular elements in modern design is seen everywhere you look and browsing the web reveals many inspiring website designs using circular shapes as part of their layout. Circular shapes are also repeated again and again everywhere in nature like galaxies, stars, planets, tornadoes, rings in a tree, flowers, circular waves spreading when tossing a stone in water, bubbles, blood vessels or the iris in the eye to list only a few. Being a naturally pleasing shape to look at the use of circular objects is an effective way to grab the attention of visitors just like the use of diagonal lines in website design.
Looking at the examples listed below circular shapes is used for menus and site navigation, logos, timelines, portfolio pages and even as site entries. They are also used to create nice and unobtrusive background effects and window frames with slideshows or fullscreen website effects. Some sites have crafted a design in conjunction with a concept, brand or company name where either circular shapes or 360° is part of the domain name or company profile. Various circular elements can be animated when visitors move their cursor over menus or portfolio items creating a more intense and awesome experience.

We also use circular elements on our site and several patients have said they like it. However it was more an unconscious decision to use this element. I think that you can’t go wrong with circles as they are timeless and stand for harmony.
