In this review, I am taking a closer look at Fable from ElegantThemes. It is a WordPress theme loaded with cool features and with an interesting approach in design. The Fable theme is a blogging style theme but it takes a different and unique approach to blog index and post design. First off all you will note that there are no sidebars. Further, each post is easily configured to be pure eye-catching with large header/background images and galleries. The design of each post is carried over to the blog archives and makes them look great. This great visual variation and the 4 posts types (article, video, gallery and quote) helps you telling a story to your readers. The post types dramatically change the look and feel of the posts and makes it possible to give important content optimal focus.
The design of the theme is kept to a minimum using gray and white color but you have the option to choose between 4 color schemes that mainly affect the menu. This helps highlighting the content. As you can see here the front page is a list of your recent posts. The header image from the top post is used as full width background on the post preview. When scrolling down the page this effects makes the page interesting and varied. It is not just a list of plain text and a few small post images.
